Creating Happy Campers for over 75 years!

Camp Netimus, a residential summer camp for girls, located in the Pocono Mountains of Northeastern Pennsylvania, is home to 145 campers and more 80 staff members who come from across the United States and from countries around the world. Our summer camp was founded in 1930 and continues to provide an exciting and enriching summer camp experience for girls ages 7-16. Campers can enjoy a variety of over 40 activities such as swimming, rock climbing, hiking, boating, canoeing, water skiing, sailing, mountain biking, tennis, horseback riding, photography, and crafts to name a few.

The Camp Netimus directors believe there is real value in simply having fun. At Camp Netimus, our goal is to provide girls with a summer camp experience filled with moments of self-discovery and spirited activity. Instilled with the tradition of warmth, caring and companionship, Camp Netimus is a camp where enduring relationships are born and lifelong friendships develop.

Most girls return to our summer camp year after year; many following the traditions of their mothers and grandmothers. Camp Netimus is indeed an extraordinary place. Our campers often tell us how much they enjoyed their stay. We invite you to share that experience with us.

Camp Netimus is proud to be accredited by the American Camping Association, the national summer camps accreditation organization. The American Camp Association (ACA) actively promotes and supports camp safety, providing camp leaders with well-tested programs and services that go well beyond fundamental protection and safety.

What is Camp Netimus Summer camp for Girls?

Opportunities & Choices:

Netimus is a great place to learn new things and try out different activities. And, you get to pick out your own summer camp program!!! At the beginning of your summer camp session, staff members will help you plan your schedule. Examples of regular activities include land sports, arts and crafts, swimming and boating, hiking and ropes, the performing arts, and horseback riding. Other summer camp activities change from summer to summer depending on the special skills of staff members and the particular interests of campers. In the recent past we have offered cheerleading, folk dancing, acrobatics, copper tooling, silver shop, and tipi/Indian lore.

Fun and Friendship:

Camp is a place to make new friends, to reunite with old ones, and to relax, be creative, and marvel at the great outdoors. Camp Netimus provides an opportunity to both grow and flourish. Click here to see a video clip.

Health & Safety:

Food Service - Food preparation facilities meet State and the American Camp Association standards. Meals are nutritious, and the food service staff works hard to accommodate all taste preferences. A salad bar and alternative dishes are provided. Substitutions are available for campers whose parents have told us of special dietary needs.

The Health Center- A staff of three oversee the health and well being of all campers; there are weekly health screenings and weigh-ins. We have ready access to a local physician, emergency medical facilities, and nearby hospitals. The health center is staffed 24 hours a day.

Land sport Safety - Whether the activity is horseback riding, archery, riflery, or any other land sport, all classes are appropriately supervised. Safety - then fun and skill building - is the first rule covered in all activity areas.

Transportation Safety - For out of camp activities, only licensed and qualified drivers are allowed to transport campers in buses and vans which are routinely maintained and inspected.

Waterfront Safety - Waterfront activities are supervised by qualified Red Cross lifesavers and instructors. In order to participate in out-of-camp water activities, campers must pass a "swimming trip test".
