Trips and Out-of-Camp Adventures Department
Camp Netimus has an extensive trip program. Participation is voluntary, and in some cases campers must be appropriately qualified. Examples of past trips include:
Adirondacks -4-day hiking, camping, canoeing trip into pristine wilderness
Appalachian Trail -2-day hiking and camping trip along one of the most famous trails in the USA
Canoeing on the Delaware River - Alternating between action packed rapids and relaxed paddling, canoeing on the Delaware is a time-honored tradition at Camp Netimus.
The Crayola Factory - Learn about the history and making of Crayola® crayons and markers and participate in a hands on workshop at The Crayola® Factory in Easton, Pennsylvania.
The Red Barons - Attend an exciting baseball game played by The Red Barons, a minor league baseball team; everyone from camp (campers, counselors, and staff) ventures together to the Lackawanna County Stadium for this evening event.
Sports Competitions - Camp Netimus is a member of the Pike County Athletic Association and participates in Sports and gymnastic tournaments with nearby camps. There are about four tournaments a week. In addition, we have tournaments with our brother camp, Camp Shohola, mostly on Sunday afternoons.
New Jersey State Fair: Sussex County Farm and Horse Show - A fun-filled day trip in August for all Netimus campers and staff members; the fair is held in Augusta, New Jersey.
White Water Rafting - An exciting, yet safe 4-day rafting and hiking adventure for qualified campers 12 years or older on the "Big Y"(Youghiogheny River) in southwestern PA.
Other Trips - Depending on availability and camper interests additional out of camp trips may include overnights to local parks, weekly bike trips, climbing trips, a visit to a petting zoo for younger campers, etc.
